Remember, remember, the 5th of November…2011 sees us change Bonfire to Bonefire as we bring the cream of Subject Detroit Records to London for a huge, one-off techno spectacular. The old ‘needs no introduction’ adage is one you read a lot, but in DJ Bone’s case, we believe it really does apply. From resident at the legendary MOTOR club in Detroit during the 90s, through to being head honcho at the inimitable Subject Detroit Records, Bone has always been 100% underground. Carving his own path through the hype and fashion which has begun to suffocate dance music and techno in particular, Bone’s furious 3 deck live sets have become the stuff of legend. Blending lush soul and funk with machine groove and trickery like only a true Detroit warrior can, we’ll be giving him three full hours to really go to town on the dancefloor and show why he holds the reputation he does.

Providing more than ample support in the main room is none other than Stephen Brown. In our opinion one of the most underrated artists around, Brown’s record speaks for itself. Past releases on Transmat, Djax and Music Man give you a clue to Stephen’s career-long consistency, while his more recent Subject Scotland EPs, along with numerous other remixes, have truly embedded him into the Subject Detroit family. Stephen will be accompanied by an array of hardware in November, and shall be performing a very special live set for us. Check the link below for an idea of his capabilities…

Our second room will be headed up by fast-rising Liverpudlian young gun John Heckle. You can barely log on to a dance music or record store website nowadays without seeing an interview or feature on Heckle, or one of his EPs topping a chart. His raw, unforgiving analogue styles have slotted organically into the Chicago based Mathematics label and the UK based Tabernacle records, and we’re very pleased to welcome John, his records, and (more importantly) his drum machine to our November soiree. Alongside John, we’ve recruited the services of longstanding London techno stalwart Colin Dale. An almost ever-present in everything good about the scene in London for the past twenty years, if you’re unaware what this guy has contributed, you’ve simply been doing it wrong.
